Autism/ASD Assessments
I am Dr. William Wilkinson, a Consultant Psychologist in Galway, Ireland. In the past 25 years I have conducted over 7,000 assessments of children, teenagers, and adults with a variety of learning, developmental, health, social, emotional, and behavioural conditions. I have a particular expertise in autism assessments and diagnosis and will soon be publishing a book titled, “We Need to Talk About Autism…” I am knowledgeable in areas related to child*/adult autism assessments and interventions.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN AN AUTISM ASSESSMENT?
Autism/ASD specific measures (e.g. Autism Diagnostic Observation System – 2, Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised).
Conners Comprehensive Behavioural Rating Scales, Parent, Teacher, and Self Report (depending on age).
Cognitive assessment including intelligence and achievement tests (to determine level of intellectual functioning and any specific learning/cognitive strengths/difficulties).
Clinical interview, background information, and history with DSM – V focus.
Behaviour observations.
Adaptive behaviour (if necessary).
Previous reports/form/documents.
Included is a full report with recommendations.
*I assess ages 6 and upwards.
